Well, the city wide yard sale is over. Many people came through, but the cold of the morning kept many away. All that had sales have reported that they did well and those that came out were able to find the treasures for which they were searching!
This Friday will be the beginning of fall break for the students of the Weakley County School System. Please watch out for the children, as they will be out Friday, Monday and Tuesday of this week. The students will return to school Oct. 17.
Do you need information about programs offered in Sharon? If so, please contact our City Hall at 456-2122 and they will gladly provide you with any information you need. This is a great community and we welcome you to stop in and visit our many places to shop or just stop in and see what different places have for you to do.
We have so many things to offer here in Sharon. We have an outstanding public library full of the latest books, computers for citizens to use, and many other amenities. The Sharon Public Library also has a book club that meets near the end of the month, so call them at 456-2707 or look for their article in Tuesday editions of the Press.
Our Senior Center offers a lot of activities for the seniors and almost seniors to do. From cards to dominos and even shuffleboard are available. They also now play horseshoes too. The center has exercise equipment available to help you stay in shape if that is your desire. Often they have special visitors coming to the center so be sure you stop by and get their calendar!
