Annual Photo Walk to be held in Martin Posted: Friday, October 12, 2012 5:00 pm
On Saturday, the whole world will be walking again with Scott Kelby, president of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) and number onebestselling technology and photography book author, in his Fifth Annual Worldwide Photo Walk™ — the world’s largest global social photography event in the history of photography.
Added to this year’s event is a special G+ page for the Photo Walk. The Google+ platform will help people connect more easily across the globe, share images, and possibly host a hang out or two sharing some of their Photo Walk experiences.
Each year the event gets bigger and bigger, and we anticipate that this year’s photo walk will be one of our biggest events.
The regional photography club — Northwest TN Photography Club is helping Martin take part in this worldwide event by organizing a Photo Walk in Downtown Martin on Oct 13, starting at 9 am .
The group will gather at the First United Methodist Church Parking Lot for a short introduction to the historical sites in the downtown area and then walk throughout the area taking photos for entry into the world wide event.
The walk will end at 11:30 am for a Dutch treat lunch at the La Cabana Mexican Restaurant.
The president of the club David Hayes stated that the event is for photographers of all skill levels using point and shoot to DSLR cameras.
Local club members are excited about providing this event to all photographers in the area.
The regional photography club originated out of students who attended classes taught by local dentist and photographer Dr. Tom Gallien at University of Tennessee at Martin.
The club meets the first Tuesday every month in Martin or Union City (check their website www.nwtpc.org for exact location and times).
Hayes reemphasized that the event is open to everyone whether or not they are a member of the club.
