We opened our services by singing “Sweet By and By.” Bro. Robert Pogue came for prayers and read from Psalms 119:41-42. Bro. Bobby Doughty led our prayer and dismissed us to our Sunday school classes. Our lesson was titled “From Failure to Salvation” taken from John 4:7-14. “Share with others what Jesus has done for you.”  Bro. Chris Cashion led our closing prayer and blessed the preaching hour.

Our song leader, Seth Fulcher, opened services by leading “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms” and “Heaven Come Down.” Bro. Billy came for announcements and prayers.

Bro. Billy and Ms. Maxine are on vacation this week. Bro. Joe Williamson will be here.

Our Fall Fest will be at Barbara Castleman’s and Paula Walker’s homes on Oct. 20 from 5-9 p.m. All are welcomed.

Oct. 21 will be our Fill a Pew for Pastor Appreciation Day.

Our ushers, Seth Fulcher and Hunter Doughty, came for our offering. Seth blessed the offering. We then took up a youth offering, Hunter blessed the offering.

We sang “Happy Anniversary” to Belinda and Jacky Alford.

Our last song was “Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus.” Sue Wilkerson sang “The Hem of His Garment.”

Bro. Billy brought his message from Job 1:5-22. Bro. Bobby Doughty led the prayer after the reading of the word. “Jesus was without sin but not without suffering.” Our invitational song was “Just as I am.” Bro. Jacky Alford led our prayer and dismissed the services.

That night we had the Lord’s Supper. We went into church quietly and left singing “Amazing Grace.”
