Linda (Thompson) Curling of Savannah, Ga., formerly a long-time resident of South Fulton, passed away Sept. 26, 2012, at the age of 64. Ms. “C” was a beloved mother, Nana, teacher and friend.
She chose to donate her remains to the Medical College of Georgia for research purposes.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at South Fulton Baptist Church. The family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of the Islands, South Fulton Baptist Church or South Fulton High School booster club.
She was a 1966 graduate of Caldwell County (Ky.) High School and a proud alumna of Murray State (Ky.) University. She was an educator at South Fulton High School for 30 years. Linda was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Geneva Thompson of Princeton, Ky. She had been an active member of both South Fulton Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of the Islands in Georgia.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ginna and Shawn Simpson; her son, Ty Curling; her grandchildren, Emmalie Davidson, Hannah Davidson, Brian Curling, Cicily Curling and Sallie Jo Curling, all of Piper City, Ill., and Kerry Simpson, Ava Simpson and Jack Simpson, all of Savannah, Ga.
