Doris Jean (Freeman) Wells, 86, of Union City died Oct. 10, 2012, at 8:30 a.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Bobby Stewart officiating, assisted by Lonnie Grady. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery near Union City.
Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Barry Elliott, Daniel Johnston, Larry Porch, John Bates, Scott Coursey and Guy Walker Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
She was born April 20, 1926, in Obion County, daughter of the late Herman and Emma Jean (Pitzer) Freeman. She married Edward L. Wells Nov. 17, 1944. He survives. She was a housewife and a member of Bishop Street Church of Christ in Union City.
She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Rodney Wade of Martin; her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Debbie Wells of Troy; eight grandchildren and the spouses of six, Christy and Chad Foley of Obion, Alan and Leah Taylor of Troy, Bryan and Lisa Butler of Milan, Glenda Burnham and Mark Carlton, both of Martin, Lee and Brittany Taylor of Memphis, Jenny and Jason Bell of Union City and Bret and Staci Taylor of Troy; 11 great-grandchildren and the spouses of two, Elisabeth Foley and Ja Foley, both of Obion, Nicole and Kevin Webb of Dresden, Lani Taylor, Karli Taylor, Kynli Taylor and Kai Taylor, all of Troy, and Alex Butler, Nicholas Butler, Ashley and Brian Hutson and Maegan Cathey, all of Milan; and two great-great-grandchildren, Haylee Webb and Hayden Webb, both of Dresden.
