Miss Payne, Moffatt united in marriage Posted: Wednesday, October 10, 2012 8:00 pm Ina Ruth Payne and David P. Moffatt were recently united in marriage at New Destiny Church in Gadsden, Ala., with pastor Steve Smith of Gadsden officiating. The bride is the daughter of the Rev. James H. Payne of Memphis and Janet C. Dotstry of Union City and the stepdaughter of Elder Rozelle Dotstry of Union City. Her grandparents are the late Ruthie Mae Hall and the late Trixie and Lexie Callicott, all of Union City. The groom is the son of Vernice Nettles and the late Jerry Moffatt of Union City. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Abbott of Union City and the late Lucille Moffatt of Indianapolis. The bride wore a ruffle collar dress with an elegant ball necklace and bracelet set, while the groom wore a black suit with a white shirt and black shoes. The bride graduated from Melrose High School in Memphis. She attended the University of Tennessee at Martin in Martin as a public relations major. She also attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala., and studied business administration. While at UTM, she was on the Dean’s List. As a member of Phi Eta Sigma, she earned high scholastic achievement. She was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America). She has performed television and radio broadcast for Lifeline Blood Services of Jackson. The groom graduated from Union City High School. Both the bride and groom work for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Gadsden, having transferred from the Union City plant.
