Dresden Duplicate Bridge Club came together with fear and tribulation last week to enter the playing of the intricate game of bridge. The director, Toni announced that it would be a Club Championship game. (whoever wins – gets more points) This is a special event held quartely.
Wonderful food was on the dining table for all to enjoy including homemade pimento cheese with crackers, a large bowl of crudities with cream cheese dip, spinach dip, sausage and cheese dip, cheese cake squares and chocolate mints.
Winners of this four table event, this Oct 3rd game were first place Gene Fulks and Roberta Meyers, Paris; second place Toni Pritchett and Sue Thompson, Paris; and third place Sarah Pentecost and Tom Beard, Dresden.
Instead of president’s wives today, I’m going to talk about my daughter Peggy Crawford who lives in Franklin, Tn. Peg is an itenerant hearing impaired teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing for Metro Nashville Schools.
Last Friday she flew to California to visit her two son 1st Lt. Chase Crawford and 2nd Lt. Todd Crawford. Both stationed at different Marine bases in Calif. Most exciting for her but most dangerous and fearful for me, she and Todd Crawford are going sky diving on Monday afternoon. She is on her fall break and what an exciting time for her. Chase graduated from University of Tennessee in 2006 before joining the Marines and Todd graduated from University of Auburn and was in the ROTC and going straight to Marine bases. Good Luck on Sky-Diving!!!!!!! Published in The WCP 10.9.12
