I would like to apologize for missing the deadline for two weeks straight. I have had computer problems and for some reason not been able to send in my article. It has been repaired and hopefully no more missing my deadline!
Folks, it’s here! Its time for the city-wide yard sale again in Sharon! On Saturday, Sharon will have one of the biggest yard sales in history. Each sale grows bigger and bigger! Most everyone in town has taken time to clean out closets, attic, basement, garages or any other storage areas. You may be lucky and find exactly you are looking for!
In this big event vendors will be here along with the many yard sales all over town. So get ready to visit Sharon on Saturday. Hope to see you there!
There may still be spots available for vendors. They are 10 x 10 and a $5 donation is requested from everyone participating in the sale to offset the cost of all the advertising that Penny Branson (456-3043) and/or Nancy Elinor (514-8761) provide to bring in people from all around us. If you are having a sale, or just need more information, give these ladies a call and they will be more than happy to help you. Remember that advertising is not free so be sure you make a donation to the advertising fund!
Do you need information about programs offered in Sharon? If so, please contact our city hall at 456-2122 and they will gladly provide you with any information you need. This is a great community and we welcome you to stop in and visit our many places to shop or just stop in and see what different places have for you to do.
We have so many things to offer here in Sharon. We have an outstanding public library full of the latest books, computers for citizens to use, and many other amenities. The Sharon Public Library also has a book club that meets near the end of the month, so call them. The number is 456-2707.
Our senior center offers a lot of activities for the seniors and almost seniors to do. From cards to dominos and even shuffleboard are available. They also now play horseshoes, too.
The center has exercise equipment available to help you stay in shape if that is your desire.
Often they have special visitors coming to the center so be sure you stop by and get their calendar! For more information about Sharon Senior Center, call 456-2213.
