A Union City man was charged with theft after allegedly being observed on video stealing cash from the register of the convenience store where he worked.
James Tyler Moore, 22, of 5036 Knox Daniel Road, Union City, was arrested at 3:46 p.m. Friday and charged with theft under $500, according to a Union City Police Department report.
The charge stems from an alleged incident at Pockets Shell at 1605 West Reelfoot Ave. in Union City.
Police responded Friday afternoon to a report of a theft at the convenience store, where the fleet sales manager claimed Moore was working behind the counter at the store Thursday afternoon and was allegedly observed on video surveillance taking $300 from the register.
Moore was taken into custody and transported to the Obion County Law Enforcement Complex, police reported.
