Lady Twisters’ Fair
out with torn ACL

The Union City girls’ basketball program received a severe blow when all-state forward Amber Fair suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament last week.
Fair will undergo surgery in the near future and will likely miss the entire 2012-13 season, according to Lady Tornado head coach Eddie Suiter.
Fair averaged 20.8 points and 9.3 rebounds per-game during her sophomore campaign a year ago while leading the UC girls to the Class 1A state tournament semifinals — the program’s best-ever finish during the modern era.
She shot 49 percent from the floor and 63 percent from the free throw line in helping the Lady Tornadoes to a 22-11 record.
Three other starters from last season’s record-setting team will return this year for Union City.
Point guard Anna Moore was the lone starter to graduate.
