Completed arrangements are being announced for Juanita Roberson, 83, of Troy, who died Sept. 26, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with the Rev. Vann Kissell officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery near Troy.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Hopper, Mark Bell, Jake Hall, Clay Beadles, Jason Traverse, Derek Merrick, Justin Crocker and Matthew Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Wayne Cranford, Joe Roberson, Chad Fowlkes, Brooks Howard and Joshua Howard; and two special friends, O’Neil Baker and Robbie Forrester.
She was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Trimble, daughter of the late Roy Alex and Lula John (Fitzgerald) Trout. She married Melvin Roberson Aug. 16, 1947. He died March 23, 2003. She had worked in the cafeteria at the former Troy School for 14 years. She was a member of Troy First Baptist Church and worked in the nursery there for more than 20 years.
She is survived by seven daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Ray Duren and Linda and Larry Cranford, all of Troy, Carolyn and Harold Dickson of Rives, Doris and Justus Willett of Water Valley, Ky., Pat and Mike Hill and Margaret and Jackie Perry, all of Union City, and Ramon and Jeff Mobbs of McKenzie; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanette Ball of Union City and Peggy Denson of Martin; and her brother, Bob Trout of Fayetteville, N.C.
She was also preceded in death by her son, John Roberson; two sisters, Frances Douglas and Beauton Maynard; and two brothers, Gene Trout and John Trout.
