DHS FCCLA 2012-13 Officers — Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) have elected the 2012-13 officers. Serving on this year’s FCCLA at Dresden High School are (back, from left) Pat Phillips (Advisor); Britne Haynes (Freshman Representative); Millie Williams (President); Alexis Goodlow (Historian); Jessica Cook (Historian); Katelin Isbell (Senior Representative); (front) Elizabeth Francisco (Vice-President); Patricia Barnett (Reporter); Aleya Brent (Membership Chairperson); Madison Garner (Freshman Representative). The group is currently selling pumpkins for $5 as one its fundraisers this year. Ben Moore of Dresden is supplying pumpkins. Pumpkins will be available at DHS Sept. 27 from 12-6 p.m. during Parent Teacher Conference for anyone to purchase or pickup their pumpkins. Contact Pat Phillips at phillipsp1@k12tn.net or any FCCLA member to buy pumpkins. Some of the service projects FCCLA will be conducting are “Soles 4 Souls,” a project for children in Tennessee to have new or slightly used shoes; Community Developmental Services Bingo/Basketball night; and the Recycle Bowl. The Recycle Bowl will begin Oct. 15. Community members are invited to bring recyclables to Dresden High School Oct. 15 through Nov. 9. DHS is competing with other schools across the nation in collecting trash in the community and school. The school in each state that recycles the most per capita will win $1,000.
