A Union City man was injured Monday afternoon when his motorcycle crashed on West Reelfoot Avenue at Old Troy Road.
Kevin M. Bowden, 52, of 1908 East Old Troy Road, Union City, was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City for treatment following a crash that occurred about 3:15 p.m.
Bowden, a staff reporter for The Messenger, sustained fractures to his clavicle and his left hand.
According to a Union City Police Department report, Bowden was driving a 2006 Honda Rebel motorcycle and was attempting to pull into the middle lane of West Reelfoot Avenue from Old Troy Road. He traveled across the roadway into the median and lost control at a low rate of speed, causing the motorcycle to lay over on its left side and resulting in Bowden’s being injured when he was thrown off the motorcycle.
No charges were filed.
