Completed arrangements are being announced for Russell Pearson Jordan, 58, of Moon Lake, Miss., who passed away Sept. 20, 2012, from injuries suffered in a one-car accident near Halls. He was on his way to Union City to take part in a benefit cancer golf tournament being held in his honor.
Russell was born Aug. 12, 1954, in Clarksdale, Miss. He was the son of Mary Lois and Leroy Owens of Union City and the late James Russell Jordan. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi, was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and earned his degree in accounting. Russell was a Little League baseball coach for many years and enjoyed watching the Ole Miss Rebels, New York Yankees and New York Giants. He was an avid reader and loved his life on Moon Lake.
Along with his mother and stepfather, Russell is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Russell Shane and Emily (Eddins) Jordan of Olive Branch, Miss.; his daughter, Jennifer Leah Jordan, and her fiancé, Randall Brian McGimsey of Nashville; his son, James Kameron Jordan, and his fiancé, Anna Marie Miller of Vicksburg, Miss.; and three of the most beautiful granddaughters, Haley Renee Jordan, Madison Leah Jordan and Lilly Jane Jordan, all of Olive Branch. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Robert Buford and Stacy (Colotta) Jordan; and his nephew, Eli Lyn Jordan, all of Union City.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Lyn Jordan; and his father, James Russell Jordan.
Services were 1 p.m. Sunday at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, Miss., with the Rev. Clif Springer of Oakhurst Baptist Church officiating. Interment was at Oakridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bradley Walhood, Stephen Catledge, Sandy Sugg, Jacob Lewis, Skipper White, Brian Davis, Jacob Fischenich and Joel Harper.
The family requests memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice or to Union City First Baptist Church.
