Day of Discovery, hosted by Obion County Museum, is planned for Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 1004 Edwards St. in Union City.
The CornFest 2012 event will feature frontiersmen re-enactors demonstrating many skills and crafts; opportunities to explore a fire truck, ambulance and helicopter; free presentations on Discovery Park of America at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.; a drawing for free passes to DPA when it opens in the summer of 2013, as well as for a knife, pouch and powder horn and items selected for children; and vendors displaying pottery, gourd craft, stained glass, jewelry, photography and rug making.
Hot dogs and soft drinks will be available and armbands will be offered for a $3 donation, or two bands for $5, for opportunities to take one turn at target shooting with air-soft military rifles and to allow children to enjoy train rides and inflatables. The public is invited to attend.
