NASHVILLE (AP) — Tennessee’s 2012 deer archery season opens statewide this weekend.
The archery season dates run from Sept. 22 through Oct. 26 and again starting on Oct. 29 through Nov. 2. The antlered deer bag limit is a total of three for the year, but no more than one per day.
For antlerless deer, the bag limits are set at four for Units A and B deer management areas and three per day in Unit L areas. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency recommends hunters obtain a 2012 Tennessee Hunting and Trapping Guide, which is available online at http://www.tnwildlife.org .
In addition to deer, archers may also harvest wild turkeys of either sex during the deer archery season in counties that have a fall turkey gun hunt.
