A Union City man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting the mother of his children in July.
Jaquan Omar Brown, 21, of 503 Nash St. was arrested on Saturday.
He is accused of breaking in the back door of his girlfriend’s apartment and pulling her out of the bed by her ponytail.
Heather Michell Howard, 22, of Union City told Union City police he also ripped her shirt and scratched her back.
Ms. Howard’s sister, Jackquien Kinyon, was at the apartment and witnessed Brown’s actions.
Ms. Kinyon said she got her cell phone and was calling 911 when Brown took the phone from her. He returned it after she threatened not to let him speak with Ms. Howard again, according to a Union City police report.
Brown returned Ms. Kinyon’s phone and she started calling 911 again. He then allegedly took Ms. Howard’s phone and the keys to the apartment and ran.
Brown is charged with domestic assault, evading arrest, aggravated assault and aggravated burglary.
