Hello to everyone from Pleasant Hill.
We started our Sunday morning with a great lesson from Mark Simpson.
We are glad to have Vanoy and Vickie Cox from Union City joining us for Sunday school while she is filling in as our pianist for a few weeks. She can really tear that piano up.
Bro. Mac, Bro. Steve, Bro. Elwood, Denise and Vickie brought us a program of great music.
Bro. Mac’s sermon was brought from 2 Corinthians 1:3-11.
We would like to extend good luck to Cory Maddox, son of Michael and Jami Maddox, as he is leaving for the Marines this week. He will be sent to Paris Island, S.C. for his training.
Peggy Carr was in the hospital last week with what might possibly have been a stroke. They were not for sure when it was announced at church. We wish for her a speedy recovery.
We are sorry to learn of the death of James Harelson’s daughter who lived in Alabama. Services were held last week in Alabama.
The Brotherhood of Pleasant Hill will have their monthly Brotherhood breakfast Sunday at 8 a.m. All men and boys are invited to attend.
Next Sunday evening our children will begin practicing for the Christmas program. This is always an exciting time for the children.
On Sept. 29 at the Martin Recreational Complex, we will have a “Walk for Life” for the Agape House on the walking trail. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 9. See Linda Fowler if you would like to walk or sponsor a walker from Pleasant Hill.
There are no birthdays from the church for this week, but I would like to wish a close friend of mine, Rhonda Copeland Capps, who worked at The Press with me for many years, a very happy birthday.
Until next week, may God bless
