Mary Cornelia Brasfield Herron

Mrs. Mary Cornelia Brasfield Herron, 95, of South Cedar St., Dresden, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.

Funeral and Celebration Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Dresden. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden with Murphy Funeral Home in Martin in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Herron was a member of Dresden First United Methodist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Herron is survived by three sons, Roy B. (Nancy) Herron, Ben Herron, both of Dresden and Dean (Diane) Herron of Estill Springs; six grandsons; three great-granddaughters; and one great-great-grandson.

Mrs. Herron was preceded in death by her husband, Chancellor Grooms Herron; one daughter, Betsye Herron Hickman; one brother, Richard Brasfield; and her parents, Roy and Johnnie Bobbitt Brasfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to First United Methodist Church in Dresden or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
