One driver was possibly injured and was charged with several offenses following a two-vehicle traffic crash Wednesday afternoon at East Main Street and Miles Avenue in Union City.
Priscilla L. Battee, 37, of 819 East Vine St., Union City, was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City following an accident about 3:45 p.m., according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police reported Ms. Battee was northbound on Miles Avenue in a 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier and attempted to turn left onto East Main Street.
There was a 2005 Ford pickup southbound on Miles Avenue in the right lane and the car allegedly turned left and into the path of the truck, driven by Edward P. Dotson, 17, of 1415 Friar Tuck, Union City.
Both drivers told police there was a vehicle in the left lane that had been southbound and stopped at Main Street to turn left and police reported this may have obstructed the northbound car’s view of the southbound pickup truck.
Ms. Battee was issued a citation charging her with driving on a suspended driver’s license and was not arrested on the offense because she was at the emergency room for treatment of injuries.
She was also charged with failure to show proof of vehicle insurance, improper vehicle registration and failure to yield the right of way, according to the report.
