The annual CornFest Chalk Art competition is planned for Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Merchants’ Park on the corner of Washington Avenue and South First Street in downtown Union City.
Children from kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to take part in this free event, which will also feature free pizza and soft drinks for everyone entering the contest.
Students will receive three pieces of chalk and a spot on the sidewalk to create a work of art for the judges and the many “art lovers” who will be able to view their work throughout the afternoon. Students may also bring their own supply of chalk to create their work, a spokesman said.
“This is a time for our children to literally leave their marks on Obion County,” said event chairman Lisa Isbell. For more information about this popular annual CornFest event, call Mrs. Isbell at 886-8799.
