Nominations being sought for awards

The state Department of Economic and Community Development is now accepting applications for the 2012 Governor’s Award for Trade Excellence (GATE).
The awards will be presented at the Governor’s Luncheon on Oct. 19 during the Governor’s Conference on Economic and Comm-unity Development at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel.
Nominations for the  awards may be submitted at http://www.tnecdcon.com/awards.html, and the deadline to apply is Sept. 28. 
The awards are given to Tennessee companies that have shown strong export growth in three categories: large companies (250 or more employees), medium companies (under 250 employees) and small companies (under 25 employees)
Businesses may nominate themselves or be nominated by a trade association, customer or a person familiar with the company’s achievements.
Nominations may be submitted online or an application may be downloaded and mailed to ECD, Attn.: Patrick Baird, 312 Rosa L. Parks Ave., 11th Floor, Nashville, TN 37243.
