Froggy Smiles Daycare has opened in Troy and administrator Sherry Petty has pledged to take a personal and enthusiastic approach to the care and education of the children left in her charge.
Miss Petty said the day care center will focus on curriculum that is based on teaching the basic knowledge and the skills needed to start a child’s early education, either pre-kindergarten or straight to kindergarten.
She is not only the administrator, but also serves as director and a teacher at the center. Miss Petty has more than 10 years’ experience working in the child care profession and has a passion for providing a safe, caring, fun, loving and educational environment.
Froggy Smiles Daycare is located at 322 North Peabody St. in Troy and is open from 5 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
The telephone number for the center is 536-4488 or (731) 358-3842.
Inside the day care center, the colorfully-decorated rooms are arranged in a way that children can participate in specific activities. A great deal of work has been done to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for the children. Outside at Froggy Smiles Daycare is a fenced-in playground area for children.
The center is currently taking applications.
Miss Petty said she has always dreamed of having her own day care center and, as co-owner of Froggy Smiles Daycare, David M. Rudd was proud to give his fiancé the opportunity to realize her dream.
Rudd recently returned from his fourth tour of duty overseas with the Tennessee Army National Guard.
“Our little yellow building has made a miraculous transformation thanks to some good old-fashion elbow grease and our sheer determination,” Miss Petty said.
“I’ve also had help from a few good friends — Terry and Cynda Lamphier and Zoramae Rudd. Words cannot say enough to express our thanks,” Miss Petty said. “Dreams do come true if you only believe.”
