Julie Lynn (Dorris) Council, 54, of Troy went home to be with the Lord 4:45 p.m. Sept. 8, 2012, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
There will be a celebration of life service 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Union City, with the Rev. Steve Carr and Dr. Melvin Poe officiating. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Terrace Hill Cemetery in Troy.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. and continue until the hour of services Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Steve Wills, Jay Spaulding, Jamie Spaulding, Steve Tittle, B.J. Phillips and Ralph Norman.
Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Feb. 8, 1958, in Springfield, daughter of Mae (Murrah) Dorris of Jackson and the late Wayne C. Dorris. She married Terry Council July 21, 1975. He survives. She was a homemaker and a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Troy.
She is also survived by two daughters and her son-in-law, Mandi and George Ortega of Stockton, Calif., and Beth Tolley of Troy; her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sarah Council of Lexington, S.C.; her brother and sister-in-law, David and Lynn Dorris of Maryville; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, J.W. and Nancy Shelton of Union City; and five grandchildren.
