Striving artists get a boost | UT Martin, League of Striving Artists, Live Oak Wholesale and Acquisitions
SUPPORTING THE ARTS – Bubba Kelly (right) and Chad Snider (second from right), owners of downtown Martin’s newest business Live Oak Wholesale and Acquisitions, recently made a donation of more than $2,000 in art supplies to the League of Striving Artists. Accepting the supplies were (from left) Jason Stout, faculty advisor; Cody Williams, public relations for the League and Marah Vogt, president of the organization. The organization on the UT Martin campus promotes awareness about the arts and encourages students interested in art – non-majors included – to be involved in many art-related activities throughout the semester with those of a like mind. The activities, which take place every semester, include workshops in which the members can learn new skills, fundraisers centered on self-made work, trips to local art venues, and helping with campus and community projects. LSA meets every Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. in Gooch Hall 121.
