The annual buffet luncheon was furnished by Commercial Bank.
After the luncheon, Shanks gave gifts to each of the 34 members present. He then presented the group with a generous check for the annual food drive for Reelfoot Rural Ministries, which takes place from August through October. Each member brings one jar of peanut butter and two cans of Spam for the food drive.
The next meeting will be at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 8 at Boyette’s Dining Room at Reelfoot Lake, with retired teacher state president Joann Smith as the speaker.
