We need your help! This is the last week for the contest! We have entered the “Ugly Book Return Contest,” sponsored by Kingsley Library Equipment. The library with the most votes will win a brand new Book Return. Come on, Weakley County, vote for us so you will be represented in this contest!! If you would, go to http://www.facebook.com/kingsleylibraryequipment/app_343443465714045 and click the like button under Sharon Public Library’s book return that will give us the vote. If you are on Facebook please pass this along to your friends.
Some people are having trouble doing this with their smart phone you will have to access the page by a computer. If you have not voted, you will have to like their page then you can go vote. When you see our book return you will know why we need to win this contest. You can also access this link from our Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/sharonpubliclibrary.
We are also looking to expand our “classic” collection. If you have any “classics” just sitting around (and they are in good shape) and want to donate them to our library, we would be excited to receive them!
This week’s story time story was “The Dawdle Duckling”. Ms. Peggy did a wonderful job reading to the children. The children enjoyed coloring and having a snack following the story.
We encourage the parents to bring your children to our Story Time each Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m.
The Book Buzz met this week and discussed 31 books of different topics. It is always interesting to listen to the group discuss the different books they read during the month. The Book Buzz will meet again on September 27 at 1:30 p.m. in the library. We encourage new members to join, stop by and check us out.
The Sharon Corn and Music Festival’s website is up and running. You can access it at http://sharoncornandmusicfestial.moonfruit.com. Also check out the Festival’s Facebook Page. The Library has forms for some of the events, pet show, corn eating contest, corn baking contest and the parade form. Stop by and sign up for the festival.
We continue to have a lot of information to offer on our website and our Agent Verso Website. You can access these at www.sharonlibrary.moonfruit.com and http://tenvverso.autographics.com/iluminar/home.asp?lid=sharon. Check out our resources page on our website and our “splash page” on Agent Verso.
Check out the Learning Express and follow the link to job search and workplace skills. There are several prep tests available including the Compass Practice Test and how to create a resume.
When you create your personal account it will let you store your resume in a PDF file that you can access anywhere there is an internet connection.
While you are there also check out the READS for downloading EBooks and the World Book Encyclopedia. Remember, we are consistently adding new books and DVDs to our collection, stop by and check some out.
We continue to take donations of paperback, hardcover books, DVDs and VHS tapes.
We do accept Memorials this is another way to honor your loved one with a book placed in the library.
