One Obion County team fared very well against a neighboring team.
Another county squad came up a little short.
Ridgemont topped Union City 12-4, at the Lady Tornadoes’ field in Graham Park, while Hillcrest dropped a 6-3 decision to Gibson County in middle school softball action Monday.
Two local teams will face off against each other today in the only local game of the day as Hillcrest is right back in action by hosting South Fulton.
Thursday will see four Obion County School System teams in action, two playing each other.
Hillcrest will host Fulton County, South Fulton will entertain Lake Road and Ridgemont will travel to Lake County.
Ridgemont 12, UC 4
Brooklyn Cobb drove in two runs and scored once, while Alivia Bishop drove in a run for Union City.
Caroline Martinek, Kate Terrell and Kalie Beth Crowell all scored for the Lady Tornadoes as well.
UC pitcher Taylor Crittenden struck out six and walked two in a losing bid.
Union City’s next game will be Sept. 6 at home against Martin.

Macy Cox and Mary Hanna Short had two hits each for the Lady Cougars.
McClain Bell, Mollie Johnson and Hannah Fulbright all hit safely once for Hillcrest.
