Fulton meeting set

Fulton City Commission will meet 5:45 p.m. today in the commission room at Fulton City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
Items on the agenda include approval of minutes of the July 23 regular meeting; update on city website project; accepting a bid from James Woods on property at 408 Reed St.; update on FIDA property; discussion of the city’s surplus property; budget review; reappointment of Deborah Jackson to the Housing Authority Board; reappointment of Hal Warren and Milton Dean to the Fulton Industrial Development Board; appointment of Jim Martin to FIDA to fill remaining term of Cubb Stokes; reappointment of Kay Martin to the board of Property Tax Appeals; reappointment of Gary Fulcher to the Planning and Zoning Commission; appointment of Casey Kirby to the Planning and Zoning Commission; acceptance of the city’s corporate cell phone policy; authorization for the city manager to hire an animal control officer/coded enforcement officer; discussion of setting city tax rate for 2012; discussion of a contract with Data Design Inc. from Richmond, Ky., for city tax, occupational license and payroll tax program; adoption of a safety handbook for city employees; and accepting a bid from McKell Equipment Co. Inc. for a Case backhoe. Other business, as presented by guests, the city manager, commissioners, the city attorney and the mayor, will also be considered.
The commission will adjourn into a closed executive session to discuss personnel.
