Mrs. Evelyn Godsey Culvahouse, 86, of Martin, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.

Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Martin with Rev. David Brown and Rev. Mike Sams officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery in Martin with Murphy Funeral Home in Martin in charge of the arrangements.

Robert Alewine, Paul Bay, Mark Alewine, Marshall Stanger, Chris Walker and Andy Sliger Sr. served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Culvahouse was born April 4, 1926 in Lamontville, daughter of the late Arnold Roy Sr. and Fannie Allen Roberts Godsey. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and was a educator at the University of Tennessee at Martin. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Martin.

Survivors include her husband, Elige W. Culvahouse of Martin; two daughters, Connie (Robert) Alewine of Sevierville and Sara (Paul Ray) Culvahouse of Camby, Ind.; one brother, Arnold Roy Godsey Jr. of Knoxville; three grandchildren, Evelyn Elizabeth (Marshall) Stanger, Carmen Enise (Chris) Walker and Mark Robert (Aliya) Alewine; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Martin First Baptist Church Builing Fund.
