William Anthony “Tony” Caughron, 54, of Obion died Aug. 19, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glendale Church of Christ, with Ronnie Scherffius officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Obion.
Friends may call at the church 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Tim Fox, Brent Hayes, Jamie Carson, Kyle Ross, Sammy Snead and Paul Neal. Honorary pallbearers will be Evan Romo and Trice Caughron.
The family requests that memorial be made to Tennessee Children’s Home, P.O. Box 10, Spring Hill, TN 37174.
Cryer Funeral Home in Obion is in charge of arrangements.
He was born March 1, 1958, in Union City, son of the late Charles William “Billy” and Elsie (Scherffius) Caughron. He was a CAD designer for Parker Auto of Detroit and in Memphis and had also been employed by Caterpillar of Dyersburg in the transmission facility. He was a member of Glendale Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Brann) Caughron; his son and daughter-in-law, Staff Sgt. Joseph Trice and Casey Caughron of Scott Air Force Base, Ill.; his daughter and son-in-law, Christina Lea and Evan Romo of Kansas City, Mo.; his grandson, Joseph Dale Caughron of Scott Air Force Base; his stepmother, Barbara Caughron of Union City; his stepbrother, Michael Moore of Union City; his stepsister, Lori Gargus of Union City; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Wanda Brann of Jackson.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dale Caughron, who died Jan. 13, 1978; and his grandparents, Trice and Mallie (Michael) Caughron and Joe and Nellie (Lock) Scherffius.
