About 1,900 Gibson Electric Membership Corp. members’ homes and businesses in Hornbeak, the Protemus community and the surrounding areas were affected by an outage Thursday morning.
The outage began at 9:43 a.m. and was caused by an equipment malfunction. Crews were immediately dispatched and restored service to 1,500 in the Hornbeak area at 9:58 a.m. Service was restored to the remaining members in and around Protemus at 10:08 a.m., a Gibson EMC spokesman said.
