UC schools menus told

Editor’s note: The menus will be published in their regular location on The Messenger’s Education Page starting next week. The first full week’s menus were inadvertently left off Wednesday’s page.
The Union City School System has announced the following lunch menus for Aug. 13-17:
Union City High School
& UC Middle School
Monday, Aug. 13 — Baked chicken nuggets or baked ham with whole wheat roll, mashed potatoes with gravy, carrot sticks, fresh apple, canned peaches and low-fat milk and skim milk.
Tuesday, Aug. 14 — Barbecue pork with whole grain bun or pimento cheese with whole grain bread, baked beans, steamed broccoli, fresh grapes, canned applesauce and low-fat milk and skim milk.
Wednesday, Aug. 15 — Chicken Tetrazinni with whole grain breadstick or turkey bologna and cheese with whole grain bread, green beans, cole slaw, fresh orange, canned pears and low-fat milk and skim milk.
Thursday, Aug. 16 — Whole grain sausage pizza or crispito, whole kernel corn, black-eyed peas, fresh banana, canned fruit cocktail and low-fat milk and skim milk.
Friday, Aug. 17 — Cheeseburger with whole grain bun or whole grain corndog, French fries, fresh sandwich salad cup, fresh orange, canned pineapple tidbits and low-fat milk and skim milk.
Note: UCHS and UCMS both offer fresh salad bar options daily.
