On July 31, 16 of our youth and adults went to Santa Claus, Ind. for a day of enjoyment. They reported a good time.
On Wednesday evening Robert Baker and Jackie Laws led us in singing “Victory in Jesus.” Our study was from James 4:10-17.
On this Lord’s Day we had a great attendance for Sunday school of 62. Our class had 14 for which we’re thankful. Our lesson was titled “Make No Excuses,” from Jeremiah 1:11-19. The lesson was about God’s calling His people to service in spite of their inadequacies, and about His preparing those whom He calls. It was a good lesson.
We extend sympathies to those who have lost loved ones this week.
We sang “Happy Birthday” to Dede McClure and Jackie Laws.
We were blessed to have 75 in worship. After congregational singing, the choir sang a medley titled “Just a Little Talk with Jesus/What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”
Bro. Kieth’s text was from Genesis 4:1-15. He asked, did we want to live a righteous life or a sinful one? The message was about Cain and Abel.
We rejoiced to have Brent and Amy Cox join our fellowship and one, Katheryn Mullins, came for salvation. It was a good morning.
That evening we had a great attendance of 57. Joe and Jackie Laws led us in singing “Sweet, Sweet Spirit,” “I Will Sing the Wondrous Story” and “Standing on the Promises.” Dawn Dyer sang “Prayer Changes Me.” “Julie Baker sang “Hem of His Garment.” Robert and Julie sang “A Walking Miracle.”
Bro. Kieth’s text was from Luke 10:30-37.
After our service, 24 of our Sunday school class came to our home for a time of fellowship.
Remember, our children will be starting back to school, so be cautious as you drive.
