BAND TO BENEFIT
A new marching season is beginning at Obion County Central High School. Band camp is under way and will culminate with the annual chicken supper, auction and preview show Aug. 3 in the OCCHS commons. Tickets are on sale now from any OCCHS Rebel Marching Band member. Tickets are $7 each and include chicken, potato salad, slaw, baked beans, bread, dessert and a drink. Anyone interested may also contact Dawn Priest at (731) 796-0634. Tickets are on sale now through Wednesday. The supper and auction will both start at 4 p.m. Aug. 3 and run until the preview show at 6:45. The auction will continue after the preview show if any donated items are left. A silent auction will also start at 4. Some of the many items donated for the auction include gift certificates, savings bonds, an end table, an umbrella, items from local salons, shoes, jewelry, a thermal tote, an organizing utility bag, clothes, a pool stick, a picnic basket, including a gift card for barbecue and many other items. All proceeds from the supper and auction will 100 percent benefit the OCCHS Rebel Marching Band, including purchasing show material and props, helping with travel to contests and contest entry fees, repairing instruments and repairing/cleaning uniforms. Among the band members showing off some of the donated items are (from left, front) Jackson Smith, Michael Reeves, (middle) Becca Bargery, Whitley Cowan, (back) Kyle McDaniel, Ashton Priest, Stevie Mers and Michaela Cochran.
