Frances LaRue (King) Thompson, 78, of Union City died July 14, 2012, at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today (Tuesday) at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion Cemetery near Buchanan, with Dr. Porter King officiating.
White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
She was born Feb. 9, 1934, in Henry County, daughter of the late Jack and Elsie (Sturdivant) King. She married Jimmy Noah Thompson Aug. 1, 1953. He died May 25, 1992. She was a member of Bishop Street Church of Christ in Union City.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Debra and Bobby Joe Hill of Union City, Mary Ann and Trevor Hurst of Martin and Amy Thompson of Nashville; two grandchildren, Scotty and his wife, Kristen, Gilliam of Alcoa and Sara Gilliam of Nashville; her great-granddaughter, Katy May Gilliam of Alcoa; her brother, Dr. Porter King and his wife, Judy, King of Columbia; and three sisters and their husbands, Gene and George Townley of Buchanan, Anna B. and Jimmy Lipts of Soldotna, Ark., and Hinda and Kent Simpson of Paris.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Teresa Jean “Terri” (Thompson) West and Nancy Jane Thompson.
