The Dixie Carter Performing Arts & Academic Enrichment Center has announced the 2012-13 season performances that kick off with one very special show. Beginning August 18 at 2 p.m., The Dixie Live Concert Series will feature the legendary Bill Anderson. Imagine having your favorite Grand Ole Opry stars in your living room for a visit.  They reminisce, swap stories, tell jokes, poke fun at each other and every few minutes one of them sings a hit song, backed by Bill Anderson’s™ PO Folks Band.  Anderson is the host and his guests are Jimmy Fortune, Jan Howard and Buck Trent.
This is the live, theatrical version of the top-rated Country’s™ Family Reunion show on RFD-TV.
“I am really excited about bringing our Country’s Family Reunion Road Show to Huntingdon to kick off the new Dixie Live Concert Series on Saturday, Aug. 18.
“When I performed at the Dixie back in February, I was amazed by the number of people who told me they watch Family Reunion on RFD-TV each week. Our road show is presented in much the same style as the television show. Each performer is on stage for the entire show, telling stories, laughing, and singing their songs.
“This is a very diverse lineup with Jimmy Fortune, Jan Howard, and Buck Trent, along with myself and our full Po’Folks Band. I love the Dixie, and I love doing the Family Reunion Road Shows. This should be a marriage made in country music heaven!”
Ticket prices are $35/person (plus tax).
