Jean Bradberry has been nominated for the Tennessee Health Care Association’s (THCA) 2012 Individual Volunteer of the Year award. For five years, Bradberry has visited the residents of Van Ayer Healthcare and Rehabilitation four or five times a week.
THCA’s Individual Volunteer of the Year award recognizes a person who spends personal time to tend to the needs of nursing home patients.
The award is one of 11 statewide honors presented annually by THCA, recognizing outstanding individuals and programs in Tennessee’s long-term care facilities.
The winner will be announced in August during THCA’s Annual Convention & Trade Show in Chattanooga.
Bradberry visits with patients and leads craft sessions, discussions and educational programs.
She makes and delivers birthday cards for every resident and staff member.
“We are blessed to have so many exceptional volunteers serving in Tennessee’s nursing homes,” said THCA Executive Director Jesse Samples.
“It is a privilege to recognize those who give their time and talents to make a difference in the lives of our residents.”
THCA is a nonprofit organization whose members include long-term care facilities located throughout the state.
