UC man arrested

A Union City man was charged with an alleged drug offense when he was arrested Tuesday on outstanding warrants out of Weakley County.
Daniel Leon Young, 42, of 3089 Shady Oak Road, Union City, was arrested at 6:16 p.m. in the 2400 block of Tyson Drive in Union City, according to a Union City Police Department report.
A police officer reported he saw a go-cart traveling southbound on Section Line Road and he stopped it nearby in the 2400 block of Tyson Drive. The officer discovered Young was wanted out of Weakley County for two failure to appear warrants.
During a search, police discovered a substance believed to be methamphetamine in a metal container in Young’s possession, resulting in a charge of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (meth), according to the report.
