The following cases were disposed of July 2-6 in Obion County General Sessions Court by Judge Jimmy Smith, or fines paid before scheduled court appearances, and were recorded in the dockets in the office of Obion County Circuit Court Clerk Harry Johnson.
The cases listed exclude routine traffic violations, civil cases and cases that are dismissed, unless dismissal is contingent upon costs being paid or other conditions. All others are published, including judicial diversions and deferred cases, without exception.
• Amy J. Conn — worthless checks (up to $500), dismissed on payment of costs.
• Derek S. Hawks — driving while license suspended, dismissed on payment of costs.
• Reico Newberry — assault/attempt, dismissed on payment of costs.
• Tracy K. Rice — driving while license suspended, dismissed on payment of costs.
• Joseph D. Warren — driving while license suspended (second or subsequent), dismissed on payment of costs.
• Malcolm J. Caldwell — Schedule VI controlled substance/solicitation, guilty of a lesser charge of simple possession/casual exchange.
• Kenneth B. Gurien — driving under the influence (third offense), guilty of a lesser charge of DUI (first offense).
• Ian R. Howard — domestic assault, guilty of a lesser charge of assault/attempt.
• Dawn A. Black — driving under the influence (first offense), bound over to the grand jury.
• Justin B. Paschall — theft (up to $500) amd burglary (other than habitation), bound over to the grand jury.
• Austin R. Baker — theft of property ($1,000-$10,000), judicial diversion on an amended charge of theft (up to $500).
• Rodney L. Thompson — simple possession/casual exchange, deferred.
• Lamont Delee — theft of merchandise/shoplifting and fraudulent use of a credit/debit card ($500-$1,000)/attempt, guilty as charged.
• Andrea Goodlin — theft (up to $500), guilty as charged.
• Lanecia T. Caldwell — child restraint, guilty/traffic ticket paid in full.
• Walton K. James — following too closely, guilty/traffic ticket paid in full.
• Sarah N. Mayfield — financial responsibility law violation, guilty/traffic ticket paid in full. Published in The Messenger 7.11.12
