Union City police investigated a weekend incident in which a man apparently was struck by shots from a BB gun.
Police responded after 10 p.m. Friday to the emergency room of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City to speak with the victim, Charles Christopher McClure, 38, of 1213 South Third St., Union City.
According to a Union City Police Department report, McClure was “extremely intoxicated and somewhat uncooperative.” He allegedly told police he was shot by two black men when he walked out of his residence and he said he did not know who they were or why they shot him, other than he had been arguing on the phone with a friend just prior to the incident.
A police investigator re-interviewed McClure at 1:40 a.m. Saturday and he allegedly told police he had been shot with a BB gun outside the Snack Shop on East Main Street in Union City. He requested police close the case since he did not wish there to be any further investigation, according to the report.
