Billy H. Mooney

Billy H. Mooney, 78, of Trimble died July 7, 2012, at the Obion County Nursing Home in Union City.
Born Dec. 7, 1933, in Lake County, he was the son of the late Jesse Mooney and the late Elsie Page Mooney.
Funeral services for Mr. Mooney will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating the services will be the Rev. Jack Long. Internment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery near Trimble.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Stafford, Jerry Ring, Robert Gates, Richard Park, Albert Markham and Carlton Yarbrough. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Coleman and Floyd Sullivan.
Mr. Mooney was the retired manager of Farmers Fertilizer and Seed Company in Trimble, a U.S. Army veteran, a former Mason, a member of Trimble First Baptist Church and an avid NASCAR fan. Mr. Mooney served the Town of Trimble as mayor and police officer and was the former owner of the Trimble Market.
Mr. Mooney is survived by his son, Terry Mooney, and his fiancée, Pamela Davis, of Trimble; two daughters, Shelia Gidcumb and her husband, Larry Gidcumb, of Union City, and Susan Dunivant and her husband, Harold Dunivant, of Newbern; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattye Thomason Mooney; one great-grandson; and one great-great grandson.
