 This military color guard from the local National Guard Armory led the way down Kenton’s Poplar Street Wednesday morning as part of the Kenton White Squirrel Festival parade. The Fourth of July parade also featured beauty queens, decorated vehicles, emergency vehicles, the Gibson County High School Marching Band and several public officials, with the entire procession was led by the a group of military veterans serving as grand marshals. Other events held in conjunction with the six-day Kenton White Squirrel Festival were a co-ed softball tournament, a military tribute ceremony, spaghetti supper, bingo, a 5K run, children’s games, a street dance and a fireworks show Wednesday night.
