Robert Earl Clanton, 84, of Mount Moriah community died July 3, 2012, at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Mount Moriah Cemetery, with the Rev. Tony Smith officiating.
White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests memorials be made to Mount Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church stained-glass window fund.
He was born July 12, 1927, in Obion County, son of the late Morgan and Eva (Wright) Clanton. He married Shirley (Hearon) Clanton Dec. 25, 1949. She died March 2, 1995. He was a farmer and a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Barry Kendall of Obion; his son, Greg Clanton of Obion; six grandchildren, Jessica Love and Mary Beth Marks, both of Obion, Angie Clanton and Joe Morgan Clanton, both of Troy, Jake Sadler of Tullahoma, presently serving in Kuwait, and Brad Kendall of Nashville; five great-grandchildren, Madison Pitts and Greyson Marks, both of Obion, Cameron Sadler of Union City and Logan Sadler and Landon Sadler, both of Tullahoma; and his brother and sister-in-law, Boyd and Peggy Clanton of the Mount Moriah community.
He was also preceded in death by his son, James Russell Clanton; and his great-great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn McKenzie Sadler.
