Mr. and Mrs. Albert R. Dicus of Sparta announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Summer Kathleen, to Patrick William Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Wood of Jackson.
Miss Dicus is the granddaughter of J.A. and Martha Dicus of Manchester, and Elsie Huff of Sparta and the late Everett Halfacre of Granville.
The bride-elect graduated from White County High School in 2001. She graduated with honors from Kaplan Career Institute with an A.A.S. in paralegal studies.
She is currently employed with the United States Postal Service.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Juaneva Wood and the late Troy C. Wood of Lexington, and the late William R. and Juanita Davis of Martin.
He graduated with highest honors from North Side High School in 2000. He attended Jackson State Community College and graduated from the University of Tennessee in Martin in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in engineering. He completed a degree in audio engineering at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Science (CRAS) in Tempe, Ariz.
He is currently employed with Stewarts Ferry Apartments in Nashville.
The couple will marry in a double-ring ceremony July 7 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Sparta.
