TRENTON (AP) — A fire that began at a shipping pallet shop destroyed it and spread to consume 5,000 wooden pallets and about 12 acres of fields and woods in West Tennessee.
According to The Jackson Sun (http://bit.ly/Lse4Yw), the blaze began Tuesday evening about five miles south of Trenton, just off Tenn. 186.
Gibson County Assistant Fire Chief Ryan Shanklin said the cause wasn’t immediately known. He said the lack of rainfall and low humidity on Tuesday helped spread the flames, which were pushed by wind. Some crops were destroyed
Three firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion and one sustained an ankle injury.
