Dresden Duplicate Bridge Club

The Dresden Duplicate Club had two very important, impressive games this past week.
It was important for all present to pay attention to their bids, for no imperfections were allowed. So, seven tables were in play, and really, there were no errors made (according to the director). There were no bids out of turn, leading out of turn or insufficient bids made — well, no penalties were imposed, for everyone felt compelled to do the right things.
While enjoying the game, there were many, many good, delicious things to eat. Country ham dip, bacon dip, pimento dip, and all sorts of crackers were served.
Also, fresh vegetables from the garden with sauce in the middle, watermelon, vanilla cookies, brownies and coconut cake were provided. All this, plus there was a lemon ice box pie.
Winners were: June 19: First, Alma Ford and Sarah Pentecost; Second, Fredrika Scheifler and Charlotte Erwin. Wednesday’s winners were: First, Carol Ehlers and Joni Martin; second, Ruthie Jenkins and Carolyn Rogers; and third, Sue Thompson and Toni Pritchett. Published in The WCP 6.26.12
