Thomas W. “Tab” Vowell, 84, was born on July 16, 1927, to Roy and Lyvenia Vowell in Martin. He was 84-years-old when he entered into rest on Thursday, June 21, 2012. at his home in Valley Station, Ky.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church in South Fulton, followed by a graveside service in Martin. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Friday
Tab was raised on a family farm in McConnell with three brothers and two sisters. He married Marie Dean Willey in 1950. They moved to Valley Station, Ky., where they raised eight children, instilling within them a great sense of laughter and strength of family. Tab was a retired employee from MSD, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion of West Point.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Vowell; and his two brothers, Bob Vowell and Jim Vowell.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Vowell, Carol Williams and her husband, Russell, Cindy Albertson and her husband, Tom, and Maggie Morgan and her husband, Clay; four sons, Doug Vowell, Bill Vowell and his wife, Bobbie, Thomas Vowell and his wife, Jacqueline, and Bobby Vowell and his wife, Shanna; two sisters, Maggie Cummings and Janie Huddleston; a brother, Jasper Vowell; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
