| The Messenger 06.21.12 NASHVILLE — Everett-Stewart Regional Airport near Union City is among nine Tennessee airports awarded federal and state aeronautics grants totaling over $8.7 million. The grants were announced Wednesday by the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The grant received by Everett-Stewart Regional Airport will be used for a project to replace and repair airfield electrical components. The $421,440 total includes $379,296 in state funds and $42,144 in local funds. The other eight airports receiving grants — which total $8,702,473 — include Benton County Airport, McGhee Tyson in Knox County, Cleveland Regional Jetport in Bradley County, Memphis International Airport in Shelby County, Nashville International Airport, Johnson County Airport, Tri-Cities Regional Airport in Sullivan County and Lebanon Municipal Airport in Wilson County. | | | |
