First Citizens National Bank placed in the top 200 community banks in the nation for the 5th year in a row, according to a list from American Banker magazine published in its May 2012 edition.
The company’s new ranking is #68, compared to #88 in the prior period. Rankings are based on a three-year average return on equity compiled from institutions with total assets less than $2 billion that are either publicly traded or file with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The other Tennessee banks ranked #115 and #192.
Jeff Agee, First Citizens National Bank president and CEO said, “This is not by accident as return on equity is a core measuring tool and a primary driver of shareholder return. Shareholder return is a major component of our mission statement.
“I am proud of our First Citizens’ team and the hard work that they do for the customers and communities we serve!” he added.
In related news, FCNB Seifried and Brew, LLC also announced First Citizens National Bank has been inducted into the 2011 S & B Top 15th Percentile of Community Banks in the United States.
The benchmark for this ranking is based on the Seifried and Brew Total Risk/Return Composite Ranking for institutions with assets between $100 million and $10 billion.
“When it comes to measuring performance and success there is nothing better than reaching  benchmarks set by a quality firm like Seifried and Brew LLC,” Agee noted.
